We had our April & May meetings via Zoom and are still working hard to support Northwest teachers, student and families during this time of no school due to Covid-19.
Fun Night: Postponed until September 26th 2020.
Yearbook: All yearbooks were given to the school and put in each students bag that was picked up on 5/14. We have heard that some students didn’t receive theirs. Please contact PTO via email if you did not receive one.
The 2020-2021 board has been elected and will start their roles in June!
Maker Space and Lego League
We are excited to share that we have partnered with the school to purchase and provide materials to set up a maker space at Northwest. It will be accessible by all teachers to use with students as needed to support curriculum during school. What is a Maker Space you ask? It is a collaborative workspace in a community such as a school that has a collection of hands on, engaging, creative materials that can be used to explore with imagination. (Making, Learning, Sharing, Exploring )
In addition, we have provided the launch of Northwest's own Lego League, along with the help from a few grants from John Deere. There are 3 teams that meet biweekly or monthly to participate in engaging tasks together. This year has been a learning experience for all those involved and they are looking forward to being able to do more with it next year.
Thank You!!!
We just want to say a simple "Thank You" to all the parent/family volunteers and local businesses that contribute their time and donations to help make Northwest Elementary the best it can be for our students!!!
